I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! viewers have largely voiced their delight after Fred Sirieix was eliminated.
On tonight’s edition of the reality show, the 51-year-old First Dates star became the third famous face to be booted after a public vote.
When it was time to bid his campmates farewell, he advised them to ‘have fun’ with their remaining time in the forest.
Fred told broadcasters Ant and Dec that he’d ‘loved living in the moment in the jungle’ after leaving camp.
Despite revealing ahead of the programme that he was frightened of the creepy crawlies he may meet in Australia, he stated the trip was a breeze.
‘I found it quite easy because I prepared myself mentally and I was very focused,’ he explained.
When the results were disclosed, many spectators expressed satisfaction with how the voting went.
‘YES. Fred is gone,’ one person posted on X, formerly Twitter.
‘Au revoir Fred,’ someone else shared.
Another added: ‘Fred was the right one to leave. He was getting more and more overbearing.’
Someone else said that his ‘arrogance has caught up with him’.
Others cited a conversation he had with Made in Chelsea actor Sam Thompson, whom Fred had suggested earlier in the programme shouldn’t compete in a trial because he should instead stay in camp and ‘play with toys’.
‘Fred is off to play with his toys whilst Sam remains to hopefully win,’ one person wrote on X after the elimination.
‘And that’s karma for being mean to precious Sam. BYE FRED,’ someone else posted.
Another Sam fan wrote that ‘Fred leaving tonight is proof that Sam is the nation’s sweetheart. King Sam is inevitable.’
Throughout his tenure on the programme, Fred argued with numerous of his castmates, beginning with Nella Rose when he said he was old enough to be her father, which infuriated her.
Since then, he’s spat with Nigel Farage, chastised Josie Gibson for her culinary skills, and then targeted Sam tonight simply for putting his hand up for a trial.
In his exit interview he again took aim at both Nigel and Josie, saying about the former politician that: ‘There is a side of Nigel Farage I can’t connect with and never will.’
Meanwhile he said this of This Morning star Josie being put in charge of cooking for the group: ‘We missed out on a few good meals because she didn’t know what she was doing.’
I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! continues tomorrow night at 9pm on ITV1.
