I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! Nigel Farage grabbed Josie Gibson by the face during an argument, shocking viewers.
On the most recent episode of the reality show, the remaining six campmates were given the duty of selecting two persons to be transported to a Christmas-themed trial.
Immediately raising her hand, the This Morning presenter exclaimed, ‘I’m going to do it. I’ll do it if you want me to.’
Tony Bellew, however, jumped in and questioned if she was the greatest option.
‘Are you going to be scared of anything that’s landed on you? Because right now we need stars?’
She responded: ‘I’m scared of all of it… but you feel like you need to win stars and maybe I’ve not got the minerals.’
However, Nigel later stated that he was eager to engage in another trial, claiming that it was “as simple as that.”
Josie stated again that she wanted to prove herself and was unwilling to let the lads take control, but the former politician tried his best to discourage her.
‘Josie, you don’t need to. You’ve got to go into this saying I’m not frightened of whatever they’re going to throw at me. If you can’t say… then you shouldn’t do it, is my view.’
She replied: ‘I was saying I want to prove myself and you were going, “You shouldn’t do it, you shouldn’t do it”.’
He told her she was proving herself by ‘being here,’ and while Sam Thompson encouraged her to be one of the two players, she yielded and said Nigel should do it because he “wants the airtime.”
He grabbed her by the face just as their talk was about to end.
Many viewers expressed their displeasure with the debate on social media.
‘The way he spoke to Josie then was uncomfortable to watch. And then the hands on her face!! But Josie saw right through him. He just wants the airtime,’ Elliot Gonzalez posted on X, formerly Twitter.
‘If he put his hands on my face like that and was that patronising to me, I would have floored him. How Josie kept her cool then is beyond me,’ Dani Harris shared.
Ryan Glendenning wrote: ‘The way Nigel was touching Josie. He really is so patronising.’
In the Bush Telegraph Josie said: ‘I should have fought my corner a bit more, but he wants the airtime because he wants to prove himself to the nation.’
The heated argument between the two occurred after Josie had previously argued with now-eliminated campmate Fred Sirieix over her food.
Fred wasn’t thrilled with Josie’s efforts when she was assigned the role of camp chef and made his feelings known while he kept an eye on her.
While she enjoyed it at first, she later stated that he was getting on her nerves.
Meanwhile, he stated in the Bush Telegraph that what she was preparing “wasn’t cooking” and was a “disaster.”
I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! continues Sunday at 9pm on ITV1.
