Following three weeks in the jungle on I’m A Celebrity 2022, one would expect Mike Tindall would want to spend some quality alone time with his wife Zara Tindall.
However, he probably didn’t bank on radio DJ Chris Moyles third wheeling them after crashing their room with beers aplenty… and fans can barely handle the awkwardness.
Having finished in fourth place in the competition, former rugby player Mike, 44, was shown arriving at the hotel in Australia housing the stars of the series during last night’s reunion special show.
After making it to his room, he heard a knock at the door, opening it to find his wife Zara, 41, standing there to greet him.
But it turned out she wasn’t alone, as Chris, 48, then popped out from behind her, carrying a bucket of refreshing beverages.
‘I know you missed your wife, so I brought six wives,’ he joked, as Mike responded: ‘You’re the best.’
Mike and Zara perched on the sofa to have their drinks, while Chris stood over them, telling his co-star’s wife it was ‘nice to meet you’.
‘Nice to meet you too,’ she replied, before turning to her husband to say: ‘Nice to have you back.’
After taking a seat in an armchair, Chris told Zara that he ‘looked after’ Mike in camp.
‘Did you enjoy his spooning and his hugs?’ the equestrian asked, as the Radio X presenter jokingly replied: ‘I felt violated. There might be a lawsuit.’
Eventually, Chris decided to give the Tindalls some much needed alone time, telling them: ‘I should leave you to it then, because you’ll need a shower, and I’m not going to stick around for that. I’ve seen it all. I don’t need to see it anymore.’
Several viewers couldn’t believe how long Chris spent third wheeling the royal couple.
‘Not Chris Moyles third wheeling Zara and Mike,’ one person tweeted, while another wrote: ‘They’ve just spent like 3 weeks apart and Chris is third wheeling.’
‘Chris why are you interrupting Mike and Zara’s time,’ someone else questioned, as one Twitter user added: ‘What is Chris doing there leave Mike and Zara ALONE.’
After the series came to an end, with former Lioness Jill Scott being crowned the Queen of the Jungle, Mike delivered a heartfelt speech at a group dinner.
In a clip filmed by Loose Women presenter Charlene White, he said: ‘I would like to say that it’s been an absolute privilege, honour, to meet you all, being together, spend that valuable time together.’
Urging everyone to stay in touch, he added: ‘It’s easy to do, but let’s not do it, because I think we created a very special thing here, and I think it’s worth keeping it going, it’s worth taking the time on the plane and engaging about what we have actually done.’
Praising the 2022 series, he stated: ‘This could be the best show they’ve ever done in 22 years. I think to say what it is, it is the best show ever. And that is because of the people who run it and the people who are behind the scenes because that’s what makes this show great.’
I’m A Celebrity is available to watch on ITVX.
