Since the show’s inception in 2004, Anton Du Beke has been a fan favourite.
The dancer, who has competed in every series of Strictly Come Dancing, has returned as a judge for the show’s 2021 season, replacing Bruno Tonioli, who elected to stay in America due to visa limitations and his Dancing with the Stars commitments.
And the ballroom pro is back for another season. Anton’s fans will witness a new side of him as the latest celebrity guest on Life Stories with Kate Garraway.
Everything you need to know about the judge’s family life is right here.
Is Anton Du Beke married?
Anton and Hannah Summers have been married since 2017 after dating for six years.
Hannah is a marketing specialist who worked as the Chief Marketing Officer of a mobile network security firm in communications and technology.
The duo fueled marriage suspicions after Hannah wore an engagement ring and wedding band on the opening day of the Chelsea Flower Show in May of the same year.
Despite keeping their romance hidden, Anton revealed how they met on the Channel 4 show Steph’s Packed Lunch in 2021.
He said: ‘She was sat across a big table at a do and I thought, wow she is absolutely outrageous… She went off to the loo as one does. Outrageously, I followed her! She went into the ladies and I waited outside for her. I’m staggered she actually spoke to me.’
He added: ‘She came out she looked at me and went “have you been waiting outside the ladies for me?” and I went “Yes, It’s because I love you.”’
Do they have children?
George and Henrietta are the couple’s twins.
In March of 2017, the couple had twins.
Who are Anton Du Beke’s parents?
Anton grew born in a council estate in Sevenoaks, the son of a Spanish mother [Ascension] and a Hungarian father [Antal], and found his talent for dance after picking up his sister from the nearby studio.
Despite his mother’s encouragement, Anton’s father, Antal, ‘made a turn’ towards him as alcoholism grabbed him.
Appearing on Kate Garraway’s Life Stories, Anton said: ‘The alcoholism and the violence…[it was] towards me, because I was a boy, a young man I suppose.
‘You’ve got an alcoholic father and a situation where if you’re in the house (he’s) drinking then you end up with the fights and stuff.
‘You’d move room to get away from all of it and then he follows you in and the next thing you know the violence starts and then it came to a head one evening, I ended up in hospital for three days.
‘I got stabbed, I’ve never said this out loud before,’ he said struggling to hold back his tears on the ITV show.
Anton said he was sure his family and friends did not know about the attack because he never saw any gain from speaking about his ordeal, telling Kate: ‘I’m a forward looker…I don’t like to look back, I like to look forward.’
Kate Garraway’s Life Stories airs on Wednesday at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
