Michael and Hilary Whitehall, Jack Whitehall’s parents, went on Loose Women on Tuesday to discuss their new podcast and were questioned about their eldest son’s baby announcement.
Last month, Jack and his girlfriend Roxy Horner revealed that they were expecting their first child.
During the episode, Ruth Langsford showed Jack’s parents a footage of the comedian discussing how important it was to him that his father, 83, was present to greet his kid.
In the video, Jack begins to weep, causing Michael to tenderly hold his wife’s hand.
The clip was introduced by host Ruth Langsford, who said: ‘Jack [was] talking about becoming a father and talking about how much he wanted to do it for you, have a look at this.’
The programme then cut to a video of soon-to-be dad-of-one Jack on Steven Bartlett’s Diary of a CEO podcast, in which Jack said: ‘I want to do all of it with him around and obviously I know that that’s not going to be the case forever.’
Becoming emotional, Jack added: ‘I said I wasn’t going to do this. I’m not getting emotional. I wanted to have a baby because I wanted him to be around to know my child.’
Cutting back to the studio, a proud Hilary explained: ‘We obviously listened to the podcast, but we’ve never actually seen it.’

Jack cosied up to his other half, who placed a loving palm on her tummy, while showing off their ultrasound scans in two black-and-white photographs.
Writing on Twitter later on, Jack poked fun at himself with the tweet: ‘Should probably finally learn to drive now. #Adulting #DadLevel’.
