Jamie Lynn Spears, Britney Spears‘ younger sister, has left I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!
A programme representative said: ‘Jamie Lynn Spears has departed I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! on medical grounds.
‘She’s been a terrific campmate who has excelled in trials and formed strong bonds with her fellow celebs.’
Jamie Lynn’s departure from the programme comes on the heels of restaurant critic and MasterChef judge Grace Dent’s medical withdrawal.
The restaurant reviewer was first spotted after leaving the show in Brisbane Airport in Australia, before landing at London’s Heathrow in the UK.
The other campmates in the jungle are aware that Jamie Lynn has departed, and her last appearance on the show will be on Wednesday night’s episode.
Jamie Lynn’s departure from I’m A Celeb has been stated as being due to’medical reasons,’ with no other explanation provided at this time.
The celebrity has yet to comment explicitly on her departure from the show.
There doesn’t appear to be any previous example of a celebrity departing and then returning to the programme, so it’s safe to assume she won’t be returning.
During her time in the jungle, the singer and actress, 32, was often questioned about her relationship with her older sister, Britney, 41.
Sam Thompson, the current frontrunner to win Made in Chelsea, asked Jamie Lynn if she got along with her nephews Sean, 18, and Jayden, 17.
When asked if she was a ‘cool aunt,’ the Zoey 101 star praised her nephews as’so sweet,’ before guessing on Britney’s reaction to her being on the tough reality series.
‘I can imagine she’d be worried about me on here. I think she’s probably checking in on me heavily,’ she shared.
Tony Bellew, a boxer, earlier checked in on Jamie Lynn when she was at camp, noting that she was likely missing her children, Maddie, 15, and Ivey, five.
Speaking in the Bush Telegraph, he said: ‘She’s just getting frustrated, she misses her kids.
‘She’s so far away from home. It’s good to just go and ask someone how they’re doing. Just look out for each other. Everyone should have that attitude with everybody.’
Jamie Lynn’s appearance on I’m A Celebrity followed her appearance on the current season of Dancing With The Stars in the United States.
She was the second celebrity to be eliminated on October 3rd, after being matched with professional dancer Alan Bersten.
I’m A Celebrity returns tonight at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
