Because of Jesy Nelson’s self-proclaimed ‘terrible’ baking abilities, Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith have rushed to her help rather than delivering her the ceremonial handshake.
The former Little Mix singer will compete in The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up to Cancer alongside Gemma Collins, Olympic gold medalist Tom Daley, Friends star David Schwimmer, and our AJ Odudu.
Judi Love and Coleen Nolan from Loose Women, Deborah Meaden from Dragons’ Den, and Paddy McGuinness from Top Gear will all put their baking abilities to the test.
Yet it doesn’t appear that Jesy will provide much competition.
The 31-year-old is seen attempting to roll out bread in a teaser footage provided with Metro.co.uk.
‘How do I know what it’s supposed to look like?’ she groans.
‘Absolutely fantastic over here, so calm,’ she tries to convince herself as Dame Prue and Paul walk over.
‘It doesn’t look as if you know what you’re doing,’ Dame Prue comments, although Jesy insists this is her ‘technique’.
Not buying it, Paul steps in, advising: ‘Just keep on moving it with a little bit of flour underneath.’
Trying to follow his advise, she flips the dough, resulting in an even worse mess as it tears and she has to start over.
‘Oh no, this is awful that you’re even helping me. I was really hoping for the handshake as well, but it’s not going to happen is it,’ Jesy tells them.
Jesy has yet another culinary nightmare as a cake falls on the floor.
In the tent, disaster strikes as the pop sensation attempts to balance what looks to be a meringue on a kebab stick in order to create the appearance that it is floating.
Not feeling very secure, she seeks assistance from host Matt Lucas, which she soon regrets when, after he instructs her to press the meringue, it all falls to the floor.
‘It’s all your fault!’ Jesy cries out, before snatching the toppled item out of Matt’s hands. ‘Give it back!’ Uh oh.
The Great Stand Up To Cancer Bake Off returns on Sunday, March 19 at 7.45pm on Channel 4.
