Jon Hamm has given light on Fargo’s fifth season and what led to those raucous naked scenes.
The Mad Men fan, who just married his co-star Anna Osceola, played Sheriff Roy Tillman in Season 5 of the FX drama, alongside Joe Keery, Juno Temple, and Lamorne Morris.
The teaser featured the 52-year-old with pierced nipples emerging naked from a hot tub, keeping admirers hooked to their screens.
During his appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the host went right to business, questioning whether he was aware of the job when he agreed to take it.
‘I thought I had a rider in my contract, like “Naked’s fine. Cold naked is not great.” I’m more of a warm naked. Beautifully warm naked,’ Jon laughed, before a longer clip played, showing his character emerging from the water, with a pixelation over his bum.
‘I didn’t know my butt looked like that with all the pixels,’ he quipped. ‘That’s weird. I looked in the mirror, I was like, “Wow, it really is pixilated.”’
Jimmy couldn’t get enough of the clip and dug deeper into what the actor’s co-stars were witnessing during filming.
‘The glory of God’s creation… That, and a flesh-colored sock that is cinched around,’ he replied. ‘It’s not pleasant, none of it is pleasant.
‘They call it a c**k sock…’
Jon also used the chance to emphasise that there was no ‘handler’ working behind the scenes to ensure the sock was securely in place.
‘I was hands on for that one. Going on 52 years of experience, I’m real good…,’ he informed the host. ‘Tight enough so it ain’t going anywhere…’
Fair enough.
Season five of Fargo premiered last week, following housewife Dorothy ‘Dot’ Lyon (Juno) as she is thrust back into a life she ‘thought she left behind’.
After a weird kidnapping, she accidentally raises eyebrows with the police, resulting in tremendous drama, tensions, and intrigue.
Jon previously revealed how he got the part of the North Dakota rancher, revealing that he had a specialist ‘nippleologist’ on standby to refine his phoney piercings.
Side note: imagine your job title simply being ‘Jon Hamm’s nippleologist.
‘I had to have some very blue latex put on my nipples,’ he said at a screening, via Entertainment Tonight.
‘Then they cast a resoundingly lifelike pair of nipples, which they then pierced and placed over my own nipples, and we shot said nipples,’ he said, via the outlet.
‘The crew doesn’t get enough credit, but there was a dedicated nippleologist.’
