Josie Gibson has insisted it’s ‘hard’ for women to ‘move on’ from Jeremy Clarkson’s comments about Meghan Markle.
The former Top Gear host has come under fire from Carol Vorderman, Adil Ray and even his own daughter for ‘disgusting’ comments about the Duchess of Sussex in The Sun in which he said he wishes to see people ‘throw lumps of excrement at her’.
On This Morning, host Josie discussed the issue with co-star Craig Doyle, broadcaster Isla Traquair and former MP Gyles Brandreth, who all condemned Clarkson for his words.
Gyles urged people to ignore the remarks and not give it any attention to avoid adding ‘more fuel’ to the fire.
‘We’re playing his game. We’re talking about it. It’s done to draw attention and it’s great for the Sun, it’s great for him, he thinks he’s being heard. If you haven’t got something positive to say, don’t say anything, that’s my view. Just shut up,’ he said.
‘Hour after hour is just giving more fuel to this and getting more indignant. The best thing to do? Silence.’
