Amanda Holden has doubled down on her dress decisions for Britain’s Got Talent, defending her right to flash the flesh and go for racier options.
The 51-year-old radio presenter often attracts attention for her choice of glamorous gowns on the ITV entertainment show, but said she’d be ‘bored’ if she didn’t go bold.
She also revealed she’s never been told ‘no’ by the production team to any of her clothing choices as she addressed the criticism she sometimes receives.
‘Fashion is about taking risks. I encourage everyone to have a little fun and be a little daring. I’d be bored playing it safe,’ Amanda explained.
The mum of two also said that her daughters – Lexi, 16, and 10-year-old Hollie – always back her outfits and that her family is ‘only ever encouraging’.
‘Lexi and Hollie see me trying on frocks all the time at home and are the ones saying: “Go for it, Mum. We love that and you look great.”’

She also pointed out that her fellow BGT judge Alesha Dixon, 44, never gets the same critique that she does with her daring dresses.
The I Can See Your Voice star added to The Sun: ‘Alesha gets away with wearing bikinis, but I don’t seem to. It’s bizarre. With shows where there are strong women on a panel, it’s sadly inevitable that they’ll be judged on what they’re wearing.’
However, Amanda revealed that everything she wears is ‘checked by an empowering female producer’ and that she hasn’t been told that she ‘can’t wear something… yet!’

She was recently asked whether or not she loves courting the controversy around her wardrobe, after people took the time to complain to Ofcom over her Britain’s Got Talent outfits, to which she replied: ‘Oh yes, 100%. That’s what it’s all about. It’s hilarious how much controversy my outfits have caused – people have got so much time on their hands.
‘I mean, no one paid much attention to what I wore when I was in my twenties or thirties.’
She is currently negotiating her contract for a return to the major ITV show, alongside Alesha, following former judge David Walliams reportedly announcing he was stepping down after controversial recordings of him leaked insulting a contestant.

It’s also been reported that Amanda is set to host a risqué series exploring the history of sex and the porn industry for Sky History.
The raunchy special is said to be delving into Cleopatra’s love of orgies, with the TV personality recently paying homage to the femme fatale on social media by posing naked in the tub in her famous headpiece – as you do.
