Katy Perry didn’t hold back on American Idol’s Disney theme night, and we’re enamoured with her outfit.
The 38-year-old California Gurls hitmaker dressed up as Helen Parr, nicknamed Mrs Incredible, with a red wig and distinctive skin-tight outfit from the song Pixar film The Incredibles.
Katy, of course, had to post her lavish attire on Instagram. The Wide Awake singer was seen dancing to ‘I Like Big Books And I Cannot Lie’ in the short film.
Fans flocked to see the American Idol judge in her latest disguise, with one admirer stating, ‘You should wear this in met gala.’
‘You absolutely DEVOURED MOTHER,’ another added.
‘Incredibles Live action confirmed,’ a third enthused.
Since 2018, the Fireworks star has served as a judge on the panel alongside other music superstars Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan.
During the competition, Katy and Lionel flew to London to sing at King Charles III’s coronation.
Katy’s return to the iconic US talent show has produced mixed reactions, with viewers criticising some of her decisions to the singing hopefuls this time around, including advising Nutsa Buzaladze that she should ‘have more grace’ after a disagreement with a fellow participant.
For the first time in her five-year term, she was booed by a disappointed audience when she advised that the aspiring musician use fewer theatrics in her next performance.
Despite receiving flak in recent weeks, a source claims that the mom-of-one is unconcerned.
‘Katy isn’t fazed by the backlash,’ a source told PageSix. ‘This has been a rollercoaster season with a lot of great talent, so she is just doing her job.
‘She’s a mentor and a friend to the contestants.’
American Idol airs on Sundays and Mondays at 8pm ET on ABC.
