Kim Cattrall has confirmed that her character Samantha will feature in the sequel series And Just Like That, much to the pleasure of Sex and the City fans.
Between 1998 and 2004, the 66-year-old Canadian actress from Liverpool rose to prominence as the public relations guru in the groundbreaking series.
She later starred in two sequel films, the first in 2008 and the second in 2010, but was significantly absent when the reboot series And Just Like That was announced in 2018.
Kim was said to have had reservations about several plotlines in the new programme, particularly the abrupt death of Chris Noth’s Mr. Big.
However, Kim has confirmed Samantha’s comeback after whispers about her return began to circulate on social media following the announcement of a second season.
As she pleased Sex and City fans everywhere, she also wished them everyone a ‘Happy Pride,’ ensuring that the following five weeks began in style.

Variety confirmed Samantha’s presence in And Just Like That, stating that Kim taped her parts three months ago.
She appears to have recorded a cameo without the presence of the show’s other big stars, Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, or Kristin Davies.
According to sources, her presence will consist of a phone discussion with Sarah’s Carrie Bradshaw, the nature of which is unknown.
Samantha will be seen (rather than simply heard through the phone line), according to sources, after Sex and the City wardrobe pioneer Patricia Field designed her dress.
During the first season of And Just Like That, Carrie and Samantha texted each other and made arrangements to meet.
Whether or not that happens is unknown, despite the announcement of her comeback – fans will be hoping for a larger plot for Samantha in season three.
Nonetheless, fans of Sex and the City are overjoyed that Kim has returned to the part in some capacity after declaring her retirement as Samantha in 2016.
Sarah and Cynthia both stated last year that they couldn’t see Kim returning to the Sex and the City-verse as Samantha.
And Just Like That season 2 launches June 22 on Sky and NOW.
