Kirstie Allsopp has been forced to bow out of Location, Location, Location due to an accident in which she was ‘battered and injured’.
The 52-year-old TV presenter was taken to the hospital after tumbling down a bar staircase during filming for the Channel 4 show.
Taking to Instagram on Wednesday afternoon, Kirstie told her followers: ‘I should be out filming Location, Location, Location, except yesterday, when we were in a pub in Stoke Newington, filming our start of day chat with our lovely house hunters Beth and Rory, I went off to the loo.
‘And unfortunately I got something wrong and I ended up falling down an entire flight of stairs.’
While propped up in bed, Kirstie was able to laugh off the incident, as she continued: ‘It was, I think without a doubt, the scariest thing and most painful thing I have ever done in my life and I feel immensely blessed to be lying here in bed and not having broken anything.
‘I’m bruised and battered, and I went for an x-ray and CT scan, and I’ve been looked over by a lovely doctor.’
Kirstie went on to express her thanks to the paramedics who’scooped’ her from the bar floor, as well as apologise to the show’s sound guy for leaving her screaming as she fell down the flight of stairs.
‘Luckily, Phil Spencer, bless him, is stepping into the breach,’ she confirmed, adding she hoped to give some input into the show later this week via FaceTime.
‘I’m either flat on my back or walking around,’ Kirstie continued.
‘Sitting or going in the car is out of the question at the moment.’
She added: ‘At the time it was incredibly painful, it didn’t feel that comic but when I was lying with my dress around my waist on the pub floor by the toilets, which I had been heading to, I did think, there is a comic element to it!
‘And I think my colleagues who got a terrible fright could eventually see the funny sight.’
Alongside the clip shared on Instagram, Kirstie wrote: ‘News from bed…stupidly I went head first down a pub staircase yesterday morning while filming @c4locationsofficial
I am battered & bruised and putting my pants on is a struggle 😂 but I’ll be back on track soon.
‘@philspencertv is stepping into the breach and is taking over with my house hunters. On L,L,L what comes first is the lovely people who give up their time to house hunt with us and we must never forget that.’
Kirstie’s post was flooded with well-wishes, and she ended her video clip by thanking everyone who assisted her following the accident yesterday.
‘I will be on the mend quite soon!’
