Kristin Davis has joined in on the feud between Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall, former Sex and the City co-stars.
Between 1998 and 2004, the actresses co-starred in the TV version of Candace Bushnell’s novel with Cynthia Nixon, prompting accusations of a feud.
Kim, 66, was believed to be angry with the fact that Sarah, 58, was getting paid more after gaining a producer credit at the time, with things plummeting further years later after preparations for a third movie fell through, with Kim bearing the responsibility.
Kim hasn’t held back in criticising Sarah in the years since, while also claiming she was never friends with any of her co-stars.
Kristin, 58, has been questioned about the ongoing feud, and she has stated unequivocally that, while she would like it resolved, she would not get involved.
‘You have to respect people’s wishes. I’m not gonna waste energy on it. I can’t change anybody,’ she said.
‘I do understand fans’ feelings – that they’re upset… I wish I could fix it, but I can’t, it’s not in my power,’ she added when speaking to The Telegraph.
Her remarks follow the shocking revelation that Kim will be appearing in the second season of And Just Like That.
Samantha, a sex-positive publicist, was announced last week to make a cameo in a forthcoming episode, although it was believed that the sequence was shot without her needing to talk to or be in the same room as her former co-stars.
According to Variety, Kim will return for one ‘cliffhanger’ scene where Samantha, who has moved to London, will have a phone conversation with Sarah’s Carrie Bradshaw.
The New York Post also revealed that Cattrall’s cameo was so secretive her name didn’t even appear on the call sheet for the day, leaving people stunned at her presence.
Kim had previously stated that it was ‘wonderful wisdom to recognise when enough is enough’ after years of making her opinion on returning to the brand known.
While Samantha did appear in the first season of And Just Like That, it was only via text messaging as Carrie attempted to rebuild their friendship.
The series’ plot revealed how the two ladies fell out after Carrie fired Samantha as a publicist, prompting Samantha to collect her belongings and relocate to London.
And Just Like That season 2 premieres on Monday June 22 on Sky and NOW.
