Lana Del Rey kept Glastonbury fans waiting for over a half-hour before eventually heading to The Other Stage on Saturday night.
The Summertime Sadness singer arrived 30 minutes late for her much-anticipated performance at the Worthy Farm festival.
Crowds at the alternative main stage got agitated as the US singer remained absent, with screams of ‘We want Lana’ echoing over the pitch.
Domestic audiences got furious as well, with Twitter users calling her “Lana Del Late.”
Lana soon took the stage wearing a black turtleneck ensemble that was removed to reveal a white dress with a religious motif and a diamond-style headpiece.
For her act, the singer staged a theatrical-style performance in which her hair and make-up were done on stage as dancers clad in black mesh costumes glided beautifully about her.
After playing Cherry, she thanked the audience, saying, ‘Thank you very much, I’m really delighted to be here.’
But it wasn’t long before things became awkward when the singer stated that her hair was the reason she was late – and she had every intention of finishing her act.
‘I was so f***ing late and I am about to rush this set,’ she told the crowd.
‘If they cut power, they cut power, I’m super f***ing sorry. My hair takes so long to do.
‘Let’s keep on running the set as it’s supposed to go.’
The postponement followed claims that the Born To Die singer was upset that she was not included as the headlining act on the stage for Saturday on the original line-up poster.
Fans speculated that her tardiness was due to her desire to end the night after headliners Guns N’ Roses ended their act, while others speculated that her tardiness was’revenge’ on the promoters.
The all-male headlining artists and lack of diversity in this year’s Glastonbury lineup drew criticism.
Lana, 37, fans were also irritated when they noticed she didn’t have prominent positioning as one of the stage headliners, with top billing – as usual – going to Pyramid Stage artists and the remainder of the line-up listed alphabetically.
In response to her not being named as the Other Stage headliner, the singer wrote a scathing remark on Glastonbury’s Instagram page.

‘Thanks for announcing that I was headlining the other stage. Thumbs up’, she wrote.
But, her Glasto performance did go down a treat in the end, with one viewer praising her as ‘the greatest pop star on the planet right now.’
‘God is a woman and her name is Lana Del Rey’, wrote another.
‘Lana Del Rey more than making up for being 30 min late’, one added.
