Linda Robson has said she was apparently the only member of the Loose Women panel to attend Stacey Solomon’s wedding, as she revealed details of the big day.
Stacey, 32, and her partner Joe Swash, 40, have finally tied the knot, with the adorable pair exchanging their vows in front of loved ones at their home in Essex, which they call ‘Pickle Cottage’.
In a post shared on Instagram to mark the special occasion, Stacey said it was ‘the most special day that we didn’t ever want to end’, adding to her fans: ‘We love you all & the special community we’ve built on here so so much and couldn’t wait to share these moments with you.’
While speaking at the National Reality TV Awards UK 2022, which took place on Thursday in London, Birds of a Feather star Linda said that she was the only person representing the Loose Women team at the nuptials, aside from bosses ‘Tom and Sally’.
‘Nadia [Sawalha] was away, a lot of people were away. Kaye [Adams] lives in Scotland so a lot of people couldn’t get there,’ she told OK! magazine.
Linda admitted that while she thought the speeches ‘went on a little long’, with there being ‘many best men’, it was an ‘amazing day’.
Recollecting how several guests were ‘crying’ at the event, Linda, 64, said: ‘There were many best men. The speeches went on a little long. So it was two of Joe’s best mates and all his sons and that. The kids were all page boys and bridesmaids.’
She continued: ‘It was an amazing day. We didn’t get out there until about 12 o’clock that night.’
Linda also shared how ‘moving’ she found the ceremony when Joe was walked down the aisle by his mum, having lost his dad when he was 11 years old.
The TV personality explained that she’s best friends with Joe’s mum, having grown up together, and her daughter is also best friends with the groom.
In the message she shared on Instagram, Stacey explained how a ‘huge part of our wedding day’ was reflecting on how Joe lost his dad as a child, just as her father also lost his own dad as well.
Imploring people to donate to a charitable organisation that supports children going through bereavement, the bride said: ‘These memories are so special to us and it would mean the absolute world to us if they made a difference to children growing up with the loss and heartache that my father and my husband did.
‘Thank you for respecting our wishes 🖤 lots of love Mr & Mrs Solomon-Swash.’
Loose Women airs weekdays from 12.30pm on ITV.
