On The Simpsons, he spent years attempting to murder people, but it appears Springfield’s greatest evil finally met his match this Halloween.
Sideshow Bob was introduced at the start of the series and has had several efforts to murder Bart Simpson fail over the years.
Bob, a recurrent villain on the iconic comedy, has also manipulated mayoral elections and attempted to assassinate Bart’s aunt Selma.
But now Bob, whose true name is Robert Terwilliger, has been murdered off himself, as depicted in the current Treehouse of Horror episode.
Lisa has become a specialist in true crime and a police consultant in a future parallel timeline in which Bob has successfully murdered Bart.
She first enlists Bob’s assistance in solving a string of murders in Springfield, but it is revealed that she has a wicked dual personality before murdering Bob.
The Treehouse of Horror series, which debuted in the second season of The Simpsons in 1990, is a diversion from the main programme and is divided into three mini-episodes.
A milestone episode in every Simpsons season, they spoof renowned horror films, like The Shining, The Twilight Zone, and Nightmare on Elm Street.
Praising the episode, one fan on Twitter said ‘The strongest part was Lisa and Sideshow Bob,’ while another said: ‘I knew Lisa was going to kill Sideshow Bob!’
Many Simpsons fans, however, are aware that Treehouse of Horror episodes are frequently non-canonical, which implies Bob might be back in Springfield very soon.
Other memorable Halloween episodes include Homer being brought into our world, Maggie developing alien tentacles, and Mr. Burns becoming a vampire.
It’s also not the first time Bob has ‘died’ on the show, with a scene in the season 19 episode Funeral for a Friend showing Bob faking his own death.
Kelsey Grammer, who has played Bob from his first appearance on the programme, just made a significant comeback in a revival of the popular comedy Frasier.
