Marshall Glaze, the star of Love Is Blind, has issued a public apology after a series of old tweets emerged, prompting widespread outrage.
The 27-year-old, who was in a love triangle with Jackie Bonds and Josh Demas, spoke up when his prior tweets were discovered, in which he made offensive remarks against Black women.
The Netflix star revealed on Twitter that he expected the hostility because his cousin, Bachelorette candidate Justin Glaze, experienced something similar.
‘I’m seeing a lot of my old tweets surface from years ago,’ he began. ‘This happens to pretty much everyone who goes into the public eye. It happened to my cousin and I knew it’d happen to me.
‘Let me be clear: Like I said to someone earlier… Things change. I was a sad teenager with a lot of issues when I tweeted alot of that. I’ve grown and do not feel or think the same way. Anyone with anything to hide would have gone back and deleted it but I left it up for a reason.
‘I even had a chance to go back and erase it. I elected not to. It’s my progression as an individual. As a human. Those old tweets are just my proof that I have evolved. I thank God for the opportunity to be damaged, seek clarity and forgiveness, and develop into a better person [sic].’
‘My apology to Black women is how I treat every single Black woman I encounter in my life. With respect and love. Words mean a lot but actions mean more,’ he said in a follow-up post, before calling out ‘death threats’ that he had received.
‘ALRIGHT. At what point does holding someone accountable get too far? I’ve got fake accounts dm’ing me death threats,’ he fumed. ‘Really? Come on people.’
In a following message, he made a direct apology to everyone he had offended, along with a TikTok montage apologising to everybody in his network, including friends and family members.
‘I take full accountability for those tweets I sent years ago. I apologize. I pray for forgiveness so that we all can move forward as a unit in a world that is determined to divide us,’ he added.
‘Please allow me the space to, again, take accountability for those tweets from 2014 and earlier. 2023 Marshall is ashamed of the younger, less developed and immature version who posted those tweets.
‘This time, let me direct a public apology to some of the phenomenal Black women in my life. Let this be an apology to all of the incredible Black women around the globe.’
Marshall’s tweets, which date back to 2011, surfaced last week on the Love Is Blind Reddit community.
Some emphasised his fondness for Latina ladies, while others were insulting to Black women, eliciting outrage from followers.

In 2014, he posted on his Instagram account, ‘A group of unhappy Black ladies that sit in a damn circle discussing their experiences on why MEN “ain’t s**t.”
‘I’ll tell you, BLACK females. Why?’
‘You walk into a restaurant and what do you see? A white couple, a Hispanic couple, an Asian couple, OH and a group of Black girls,’ one tweet said.
‘Latina girls know how to treat their dude,’ a post from 2011 read, with a follow-up adding: ‘I want a Latina girlfriend, only so she could speak Spanish when we… Yea lol.’
Marshall rose to prominence on season four of Love Is Blind, when he formed a friendship with Jackie in the pods.
He promptly went down on one knee, but gaps in their relationship began to appear during a cast trip to Mexico, and they widened when they returned to Seattle.
In the end, Jackie opted to leave their relationship and restart her romance with Josh, whom she met in the pods.
Despite leaving the show single, Marshall’reached out’ and established an off-screen affair with co-star Kacia Clark, which terminated shortly after.
Love Is Blind is available to stream on Netflix now.
