Maya Jama, the new Love Island host, appears to have impressed employers enough that they want to sign her to a’multi series deal’ – and we’re here for it.
The ITV2 dating show’s winter series premiered on Monday night, with the presenter making her debut, having replaced Laura Whitmore, who announced her retirement in August.
And it’s safe to say that Maya, 28, definitely stole the show when she arrived by helicopter at the South African estate before re-emerging in *that* black dress.
According to sources, executives are now eager to retain Maya on board for the long run.
‘The reaction to the launch was electric,’ a TV insider said. ‘It was the stuff that a marketeer’s dreams are made of and will undoubtedly mean a boost in viewers watching on catch-up.

‘You’d have to be living under a rock to have missed seeing a photo of Maya in that black dress yesterday and it will surely captivate those who previously only had a casual interest.’
The source added to The Sun: ‘One thing’s for sure — there will be a lot of urgent conversations around renewing her contract already underway.’
Following the premiere, Maya took to Instagram to thank her followers for their overwhelming support.

Uploading several pictures of herself in her already-iconic black cut-out number, she wrote in the caption: ‘Overwhelmed from last night, thank you so much for your kind words.’
The DJ then added a tease for the second instalment, writing: ‘Who’s ready for tonight’s episode ??’ (sic)
Maya previously revealed how much of a fan she is of Love Island.
Speaking to Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary on This Morning, ahead of landing in South Africa, she enthused: ‘I’m a massive fan, I’ve watched pretty much all of the series. I’ve tried not to do too much research because you want to still be yourself, don’t you?
‘You want to ask all the questions you want to know, but as a fan of the show, I feel like I’m going to approach it how I’ve screamed at the telly for years.’
Love Island airs tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
