Love Island is back on our screens, and fans are raving about this year’s cast.
We’re hoping to be captivated to the betrayals, broken hearts, ‘icks,’ and dumpings in the ITV2 summer reality programme, following the winter ratings fall of Love Island in South Africa.
Maya Jama and her jaw-dropping ensembles returned in the first episode, which saw the pairings chosen by the public.
The vote matched Molly and Mitchel, Ruchee Gurung, Mehdi Edno, Jess Harding, George Fensom, Catherine Agbaje, and André Furtado from Molly Marsh, Tyrique Hyde, Ella Thomas, Mitchel Taylor, Ruchee and Mehdi, Ella and Tyrique, Jess and George… and Catherine and André.
The Love Island Twitter community was back in full force last night, celebrating the diversity of this year’s cast.
‘This love island cast is way better looking than the winter one,’ one person penned.

‘They’re mixing it up this year! No stepping forward for the guys and the most diverse cast I’ve seen in a while,’ another added.
‘Okay, the first episode and the cast are already delivering so this season may be excellent,’ said a third.
Molly, a musical theatre actress, and Mitchel, a gas engineer, were quite pleased with their relationship at yesterday’s premiere, especially after finding they live only 20 minutes apart in real life, in Doncaster and Sheffield, respectively.
However, aesthetics practitioner Jess and beautician Ruchee were dissatisfied with their other halves, business development executive George and communications manager Mehdi.
But it appears that their fortunes may alter tonight, as late bombshell Zachariah Noble plans to marry a girl of his choice.
Maya, who made her debut earlier this year for the winter edition, revealed her enthusiasm about taking part in the 2023 summer series ahead of its start.
‘I’m so excited. It’s coming around so fast, I feel like we were just doing it yesterday and now it’s like “back at it again”.’
She admitted to feeling some pressure to perform as well as she did the previous time she took over for Laura Whitmore.
Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
