A Love Island fan found himself in hot water after bumping into Dami Hope and Indiyah Polack, when they made the ill-advised decision to call Indiyah his ‘little wife’.
Ever since the final of the ITV2 competition aired, with Dami and Indiyah finishing in third place, the islanders have been inundated with attention and adoring messages from their followers.
However, sometimes members of the public can take the contestants by surprise… such as when the couple had a now-viral encounter with a fan in London.
In the clip shared on TikTok, the fan – who goes by the handle @pocketsfullsz – is filming in selfie mode as he reveals he’s with Dami and Indiyah, writing over the video which reads: ‘Bumped into Dami and my wife Indiyah,’ alongside a kiss emoji.
‘What you saying, you alright bro?’ Dami says in the video… but his mood switches quickly after the fan calls Indiyah his ‘little wife’.
Indiyah scrunches up her face in disapproval over the unwarranted remark, as Dami reacts by exclaiming: ‘Your little what?!’

‘Sorry, sorry sorry!’ the fan replies frantically, as Dami can be heard continuing by stating: ‘Relax bro! Chill!’ as Indiyah pulls him away.
Several TikTok users expressed shock over the fan’s bold move, with one commenting: ‘In front of Dami???? You tried it!’
‘Lmao how is this real? Dami was ready to square up,’ another wrote in response to the video, which was captioned: ‘U miss 100% of the opportunities u don’t take.’
However, in a follow-up video, the TikTok user revealed that Dami appeared to make light of the situation afterwards.

‘Obviously I’m a bit buzzed right now, I see a couple of guys crying about that Dami video. Let me explain it,’ he explained.
‘No it was not staged, I went up to them and I asked if I could take a quick video. I was busting jokes with them, and they said yeah, so I took it, I said what I said.’
Despite Dami’s seemingly incensed reaction, the guy who films the clip insisted the Love Island star and microbiologist ‘wasn’t genuinely mad’.

‘Why? ‘Cause it’s a joke,’ he continued.
‘After the video he’s laughing with me. Why was he laughing with me? Because it was a joke.’
During a recent interview, Indiyah and Dami opened up on the ‘pressure’ that came with the attention placed on their relationship.
‘When I got with Indiyah, I knew everyone would be tweeting, “Black love, Black love,”’ Dami said.
‘And when Casa Amor happened, I knew that if I did what I needed to do for myself, people were gonna be crying and complaining.’
Indiyah also added: ‘I love my Black men. But respectfully, if the Black love didn’t happen, what am I supposed to do?’
