Fans have thrown their support behind Love Island winner Davide Sanclimenti’s decision to unfollow George Tasker, who has spoken out about cosying up to Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu.

The Italian entrepreneur was in a state of disbelief while the soap star burst into tears when host Laura Whitmore revealed they would be walking home with the £50,000 cash prize.

Even though the 27-year-old and the actress, as well as the rest of the finalists, have only landed on UK soil today after spending the summer in Majorca, Davide was quick to clear out his Insta.

George Tasker, who had short-lived time in Spain, staying for just five days after failing to couple up with one of the girls, was deleted from the Manchester-based reality star’s account.

In Casa Amor, the labourer shared ‘a heated moment’ with Ekin-Su, prompting the 27-year-old to ask him not to spill the beans to Davide.

She said: ‘It was hot in there, obviously we’re both attractive people and we’re in the same bed together.

‘D’you know what I mean? Nothing happened.’

But when the clip of the Cotswold lad and Essex girl was aired during Movie Night, Davide was less than impressed and a blazing row between the pair erupted.

The Roman once again branded Ekin-Su a ‘liar’, with him shaking his head in the confessional and asking: ‘Why you lied to me again?’

Since flying back to England, George has spoken about his version of events on an Instagram Live with fellow dumped Islanders Ikenna Ekwonna, Remi Lambert and Samuel Agbiji.

Claiming a ‘line had been crossed’, he went on to say: ‘Her hand was in a place it shouldn’t have been, my hand was in a place it shouldn’t have been… Not for that long, but the line was crossed, that’s all I’m saying.’

Fans were all for Davide unfollowing George, with one writing: ‘Good, I knew he would once he got his phone back. Ain’t no way he’s listening to that boy over Ekin.’

A second penned: ‘Love that for our King.’

‘It speaks volumes that this is one of the first things Davide did. It just confirms again that Davide believes and trusts Ekin,’ another viewer suggested.

Before landing in the UK, Davide and Ekin-Su teased their arrival in a cute video posted on her Instagram story.

Cradled in his arms, she told the camera: ‘England baby! We’re coming back to the UK.’

Love Island is available to stream on ITV Hub.
