The baby challenge is back with a bang on Love Island 2022 – and Davide Sanclimenti has found a unique use for his plastic child.
On tonight’s episode, viewers will find out which couple has been dumped from the villa following the public vote, with those at risk being Indiyah Polack and Dami Hope; Paige Thorne and Adam Collard; and Danica Taylor and Jamie Allen.
While there may be some upset at having to say goodbye to a couple of their friends, the islanders are going to be in for a rude awakening when the cries of disgruntled tots fill their eardrums, when their babies arrive in one of the most highly-anticipated challenges of the show.
When they first hear the babies crying, Tasha Ghouri laughs while admitting: ‘This is my nightmare, I’ve actually woken up to a nightmare.’
Meanwhile, in the first look images released ahead of the episode – which will see each couple look after their babies to the best of their ability for the chance to win a prize at the end of the day – Davide looks as calm as ever sitting by the firepit, eating Wotsits with the bowl placed on his baby’s lap.
He even reveals that he and Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu’s baby is going to take after their shared hobby, stating: ‘It’s going well, she just ate, we’ll do some activities later today. We’ll do some gym squats later with the baby.’

At one point during the day, the ‘mums’ are invited out for a lunch for some quality girl time, as Daddy Day Care takes centre stage.
‘We can have a dad’s bonding session with the kids!’ Andrew Le Page says, sounding excited by the prospect.

Later on, the islanders even get a chance to take part in a baby disco, which includes a game of pass the parcel to reveal which pairing has performed the best as parents.
‘I had the time of my life, this is so adorable!’ Tasha says during the baby disco, as Ekin-Su leads a rendition of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star – a far-cry from Joel Corry’s recent DJing gig on Love Island.
Looking forward to the future, Davide speculates: ‘I think when I will be dad I will be very caring about my kids,’ while Gemma Owen admits: ‘I always knew I wanted a lot of kids because I came from a big family… I wouldn’t go as far as broody but when the time’s right, the time’s right.’
She also tells her partner Luca Bish that if their child is to play football, he can ‘take them to training’… so it looks like there could be another Owen footballing legend on the horizon at some point in the future.
Love Island returns tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub.
