Dami Hope wasn’t expecting the grilling from Indiyah Polack’s mum and sister when they stepped into the Love Island villa, and he definitely wasn’t expecting to be called Deji.
The islanders were finally introducing the other half of their couples to their family and friends in an episode viewers couldn’t wait for.
While things between Tasha Ghouri and Andrew Le Page’s parents went smoothly, Dami and Indiyah’s introductions were a different story.
Indiyah’s mum, Dee, and sister Shak began by giving Dami a severe grilling over his Casa Amor behaviour, including his notorious three-way kiss.
Not long after, Dee actually called Dami, ‘Deji’, misnaming him for Casa Amor bombshell Deji Adeniyi, who Indiyah had recoupled with after Casa Amor.
Dami was pretty shocked by Dee’s mistake, especially after Indiyah herself has made the mistake a few times before.
Last time it had happened, Indiyah immediately put her hands over her mouth after calling Dami, Deji (while he was still in the villa), with it clear the microbiologist was not happy.
‘It’s only as bad as you made it seem,’ she reassured him, with Danica Taylor left creasing in the background.
Poor Indiyah dug herself a hole, trying to explain what happened to Dami.
She told him: ‘I think because [Deji’s] over there. It’s only as bad as you make it seem!’
After her mum made the mistake, Indiyah shared in the Beach Hut: ‘Like mother like daughter.’
She added: ‘I literally wanted the floor to swallow me up.’
