Luca Bish has addressed the comments Paige Thorne made about a couple from Love Island ‘faking’ their relationship, seemingly shading her with his response.
While the 2022 series of the ITV competition came to an end more than three months ago, fans of the show have remained riveted by the lives of the breakout stars, including winners Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti.
Several of the pairings are still together, with Luca and Gemma Owen, Tasha Ghouri and Andrew Le Page, as well as Dami Hope and Indiyah Polack still going strong.
However, during a recent podcast interview, Paige was asked who she thought was the ‘fakest’ couple out of the remaining loved-up pairs – a remark that Luca has since responded to while chatting to Metro.co.uk at the TV Choice Awards.
During the aforementioned podcast chat, Paige mentioned that there were only three couples left in relationships… before adding: ‘But really there’s only two – but that’s a secret I’ll never tell.’
It seems Paige got her maths wrong, as by our count there are four couples still together – but nonetheless, she still voiced her belief that one of the relationships isn’t genuine in her eyes.
Luca shed light on what he thinks about Paige’s comments, which didn’t refer to a specific couple by name.
‘I don’t really care to be honest,’ he replied curtly.
‘Listen – people, when you come out the villa, I think a lot of them take podcast after podcast, show after show, or radio after radio, and the best thing they can do is talk or make a story.’
He continued, stating: ‘I dunno what Paige was doing or who it was about, but that’s up to her and say what you want to say,’ while also laughing.
Luca and Gemma finished in second place behind Ekin-Su and Davide, with Dami and Indiyah leaving Love Island in third place and Andrew and Tasha placing fourth.
Paige got together with Adam Collard on this year’s show after her romance with Jacques O’Neill, but they’ve since gone their separate ways.
Last month, Gemma – the daughter of former England football star Michael Owen – was named on Tatler’s most eligible list despite the fact she’s still dating Luca.
She previously told Metro.co.uk that things were going well with Luca, despite the pair splitting their time between their respective homes in Cheshire and Brighton.
‘We’ve been supporting each other with what we’ve got going on and just trying to spend the most time with each other, which I think we’re managing quite well. But it’s all going really good,’ she said.
