Paige Turley of Love Island has spoken out about her split with Finn Tapp, detailing why they chose to call it quits.
The former pair won the ITV2 season in 2019, taking home the £50,000 prize after being in a relationship from day six all the way up to the final on day 44.
In the real world, the duo kept going strong, enduring the Covid-19 epidemic in lockdown together.
However, it was announced in April of this year that they had split after three years of dating.
Paige appeared as a special guest on the Love Island: Aftersun sister programme on Sunday, June 11, with her series six co-star Shaughna Phillips, who just gave birth to a baby girl.
The two ladies stood behind the bar as host Maya Jama approached them, respectfully bringing up Paige and Finn’s divorce.
After mentioning their break-up, the 28-year-old presenter said: ‘It’s ok, onto the next. Can we ask what happened? Is it a secret?’
Paige, 25, was happy to answer honestly, responding: ‘No! Do you know what, we’re still really good friends. It was just… I think we drifted apart.
‘We’d done lockdown together. Any struggle we could face, we were faced with. But we’re still good friends.’
Paige, on the other hand, made it obvious that she was not eager to start a relationship with anybody else.
Shaughna then suggested that Paige may be a bombshell, returning to the programme in 2022 as Adam Collard did.
Referencing her ex-boyfriend Finn, 23, the former winner remarked: ‘If he goes back in, then there’s gonna be trouble.
‘We’re not having an Adam Collard bombshell again. If he started packing, then that’s it.’
Paige stated that Finn had been ‘barred’ from returning to the villa when questioned.
Love Island returns tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
