The harsh tweets have returned with Love Island.
As Maya Jama returns as host for another summer of matchmaking, George Fensom has joined the villa with great aspirations of finding love.
However, George’s description of a Casanova was the first thing that got viewers talking.
Most of us understand a Casanova to be a man who has had many partners.
George, on the other hand.
He believes it is a car.
Chatting to cameras in his introductory VT, the reality star began: ‘I’m George, I’m 24 years old, I’m a business development executive from Bedford. In a nutshell, it’s just a glorified salesman.’
He went on: ‘My mum actually calls me a Casanova… I don’t know what that is.
‘I thought it was a car.’
Off to a strong start then, George?
‘I just naturally flirt. I think you can flirt yourself into anything,’ he said confidently.
‘If I’m chatting to someone a little bit older, forties or fifties, I can talk about bingo, whereas I can talk to someone in their twenties about TikTok.’
On what to expect of him this series, he assured: ‘Behind the Delboy personality, I am a softie.
‘I’m 24 now, I’m looking to find Mrs Right.’
‘She’s got to have a good personality,’ he declared. ‘Good energy, and someone to build a good connection with.
‘I’m going on Love Island to find the love of my life.’
In true Love Island style, though, viewers weren’t so quick to let him off with his slip-up.
‘Omg George is an idiot. I love him. Who doesn’t know what a casanova is’, one person tweeted.
‘Imagine bragging about not knowing what a Casanova is’, another wrote.
‘he thought a “casanova” was a car, and didn’t think to question why his mum was using it as a nickname for him?’, another tweeted.
However, several viewers speculated that George’s mother’s nickname for him may be a “red flag.”
One individual wrote: ‘george: “my mum calls me casanova” .. sounds like we have another f boy’.

‘Sales man and Casanova? Another walking red flag’, another wrote.
George’s arrival to the estate has already created quite a commotion.
He became embroiled in a scandal after fans discovered tweets from his social media accounts that contained homophobic remarks.
Furthermore, his ex-wives have accused him of ‘controlling’ behaviour.
One prior girlfriend claimed she suffers Post Traumatic Stress Disorder as a result of their 18-month relationship, during which he allegedly controlled what she ate, how she dressed, and verbally assaulted her in public.
In response, George’s family published a statement rejecting the charges.
‘This is a one-sided account of a relationship George had six years ago when he was 18, and this is not behaviour we recognise,’ they began.
‘We have been very reluctant to speak about this as we have no desire to in any way cause distress to George’s ex-girlfriends, but given George has no right to reply, and because of the strength of these unsubstantiated claims being made against him, we feel we have no choice.
‘These claims are false, unjustified and hurtful, and George would absolutely refute these. It has been very upsetting to see our son labelled using such damaging terms.
‘We know our son better than anyone and we also had close insights into these two relationships, and this isn’t the full story. George only ever wanted to end this amicably and move on in a civil manner so it is very sad it has come to this.’
They ended by urging viewers to ‘give him an opportunity to prove he is not the person he is being represented to be.’
Love Island continues tomorrow night at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
