Amber Davies, a former Love Island contestant, has been officially revealed for Dancing On Ice.
The 26-year-old actress, who won the ITV reality programme in 2017 and has since made a name for herself in the West End, has been revealed as the fourth celebrity competing in the skating competition.
She confirmed the news on Friday’s broadcast of Lorraine, admitting that it now “feels real.”
‘It’s out there now,’ she said. ‘I’ve been in this Dancing On Ice bubbled and today it feels real. No, I can’t go back!’
Amber is excited to work with ‘an incredible pro’ whom she has yet to meet, and she is determined not to let ‘the adrenaline’ get the best of her.
‘I would definitely say that I’m an adrenaline junkie but I do get more nervous as I get older and I hope that I can contain them, I don’t want the adrenalin to get the better of me,’ she added.
Amber said that she ‘can count on one hand how many times’ she’s ice skated, saying that her parents discouraged her from trying skating or skiing when she was younger due to her acting ambitions.
She is, however, eager to immerse herself in the Dancing On Ice experience, and she is even willing to attempt the feared headbanger.
Asked about the daring manoeuvre on the show, she replied: ‘Someone said, “Do you wanna do the headbanger?” I said, I’d love to get that out in week one if I can!’
Amber rose to prominence on Love Island and has since been on stage in 9 to 5: The Musical, Back To The Future: The Musical, and her current tour appearance in Pretty Woman.
She is the fourth celebrity to be revealed, following boxer Ricky Hatton, actress Claire Sweeney, and former S Club 7 star Hannah Spearritt.
Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am on ITV. Dancing On Ice will return to ITV in 2024.
