Ella Thomas, a Love Island competitor, put the Spanish villa into a tailspin when she returned to the main house with a new love interest on Wednesday night.
Following a few days apart during Casa Amour, the islanders were advised to re-couple around the fire pit.
Tensions rose as some couples returned to the villa with new companions, but there was one moment that left everyone stunned.
Tyrique Hyde, 24, was asked by host Maya Jama if he wanted to stay with his old girlfriend Ella or chose one of the new females.
The islander, who said he was eager to stay with his initial sweetheart, was astonished and upset to see her stroll in with another man.
Ella had her arm on footballer Ouzy find and was astounded to find Ty standing alone on the platform.
When Maya asked Ella how she was doing, she humbly said that she “felt he would miss the game,” to which Ty retorted angrily that his previous partner was “never mine, only my turn.”
Announcing they were done, Ella admitted she ‘never wanted [them] to be done’ and pleaded with Ty, reminding him she gave him space to explore other options in the past.
Not having any of it he responded: ‘I’m telling you it’s done. Wish you all the best bro have a blast’.
He went to a secluded nook and was joined by Kady McDermott, who was also single after Zachariah Nobel re-coupled with Molly Marsh.
‘I’m a f***ing idiot’, he expressed to the veteran islander who tried to help him calm down after the shocking moment.
Ty explained that he had never let anyone in before as he was too frightened to get his feelings hurt and emphasised his deep care for Ella: ‘I don’t want her because she scares me’.
Despite calming Ty, Kady had her own problems on the stressful evening when her partner Zach opted to swap and renew things with his former sweetheart Molly.
The competitor, who initially featured on the programme during series two, said a curt ‘welcome back’ to Molly as she seemed astonished to see the discarded blonde seated in the villa again.
When Kady chose to pair with the basketball player following her entrance as a bombshell, she prompted Molly’s earlier exit.
Love Island continues tomorrow at 9pm on ITV2.
