Former Love Island contestant Liam Reardon has been tight-lipped about his current relationship with Millie Court, as the couple dodges queries about whether or not they are back together.
Back in 2021, the couple competed on the reality dating show and were crowned the champions before going on to date for a year after the cameras were turned off.
However, the pair announced their separation in June of last year.
Millie, 26, stated at the time that it was a “difficult decision” and she was “gutted,” but it was ultimately what was best “for now” for her and Liam, 23.
However they’ve been spotted hanging around the previous several months and while it was generally assumed they were back on, Liam has since declared they are ‘just friends’.
He did, however, suggest the door was open for them to reconcile.
‘There are a lot of rumours going around about me and Millie being back together… we are very good friends, we are very close friends… and we have been that way since the day we met,’ he said.
‘People can make their own assumptions and that’s up to them, but I will leave you with the fact that we’re really good friends. We are friends for now… we are just very good friends.
‘If we were ever to get back together in the future, then yes potentially we will share it with our fans, we will have to see,’ he added when speaking to the Daily Mail.
During their stay at Casa Amor, the pair was accused of adultery after he kissed bombshell Lillie Haynes.
Despite the fact that the treachery was revealed, Millie opted to forgive Liam, and they went on to win the £50,000 prize before moving in together.
Liam has since disputed that he strayed after their on-screen relationship ended.
‘Me and Millie faced a lot of criticism, especially myself, when we broke up certain things came out about me cheating, which was obviously not true. I have never cheated,’ he said.
‘If people have something in their heads… you can’t try and tell them otherwise, you just have to leave them to think what they think.’
He also stated that he had “owned up” to his behaviour at the villa, admitting that what he did was “not right.”
In the interview, the former bricklayer admitted that dating after appearing on the show had been “tough” since he had “so many eyes” on him.
‘Dating in the public, in restaurants, or walking in the park is not easy because people know you and take photos. If you want to keep things private it is quite difficult,’ he said.
Rumours began to circulate in April of this year that the couple was back together, and they were pictured enjoying a trip to Barcelona the following month.
A source told Mail Online at the time that there was “no denying” their romance was back on, but they preferred to keep it quiet ‘because problems between them happened when they were put under pressure by fans’.
Love Island is streaming on ITVX.
