Mae Muller has criticised herself for her Eurovision performance in May, but she has stayed stubborn despite the UK entry’s disastrous night.
The 25-year-old London-born singer finished last in Liverpool on a night when the United Kingdom had one of its worst Eurovision performances.
Her song, I Wrote a Song, was well received in the hall, but it was only saved off the bottom by Germany, as Loreen claimed the crown for the second time with Tattoo.
Mae has responded to haters on social media and seen her Eurovision entry become her first UK top 10 single.
Now that the dust has cleared, Mae has revealed more about her sentiments after not receiving the desired outcome while the world watched the spectacle at the Echo Arena.
Posting to Twitter, she said: ‘Not gonna lie, anyone who tries to drag me for my vocals at Eurovision is wasting their time cos I already know they were trash.’
Continuing, she admitted that she ‘got nervous’ and explained to her followers that, ‘Ya girl didn’t give her best performance vocally.’
Despite critiquing her vocal performance, she was complimentary about her overall appearance on the night, claiming her ‘t**s looked good’ on stage.
Focusing on one part of her costume in particular, she added: ‘[I feel] okay cos [my performance] was still c**t in its own way and my t**s looked good.’
Fans on social media quickly chastised Mae for disparaging her voice, stating they were fantastic and reminded her to keep happy.
‘I was there in the arena on the Wednesday, you may think you didn’t do your best but the crowd in that arena absolutely loved it!’ one fan responded
‘Matey, please re-watch the crowd reaction at the conclusion of your performance – there’s been NOTHING like it at Eurovision before,’ said a second fan.
Mae returned to normal life after Eurovision, delighting her fans by making sneaky barbs at the Conservative administration.
She baited her admirers and invited them to stream the song so they could ‘p**s off a Tory’ while doing it in a TikTok starring I Wrote a Song.
