Married At First Sight UK fans had Jonathan’s back when Sophie’s face dropped as he spoke about his job.
The duo tie the knot in the latest episode of the Channel 4 programme but newly married life hasn’t been without its bumps.
Trouble started brewing for the 26-year-old and her new beau shortly after their nuptials when they appear to clash over food preferences.
Sophie doesn’t seem too impressed when Jonathan tells her his favourite food is ‘Haribos’, while Jonathan is baffled by his new wife’s explanation of ‘arancini’.
Jonathan later tells the camera: ‘I’d probably say she was more of a Waitrose or M&S, and I’m more of a Morrisons sort of guy, so hopefully we can come to some sort of compromise on that.’
Differences continue when the newlyweds get to know each other more the hours after their wedding as they learn about each other’s lives.
Sophie, who works in tech and lives in Manchester, asks Jonathan how he makes a living.
When he tells her he’s a joiner, Sophie’s face drops before, after a pause, she comments: ‘Yeah, Ok.’
Later to the camera, Sophie say she was ‘taken aback because he’s not what I expected’ while remarking they are from ‘very different worlds’.
Fans were quick to remark on Sophie’s comments on Twitter, with one writing: ‘Sophie is such a snob ew.’
Another penned: ‘I’m not liking Sophie!! She sounds like a right snob! #MAFSUK.’
‘This sophie girl needs to get a grip #MAFSUK,’ a viewer added.
However, Jonathan and Sophie did appear to find some common ground as they later steal a kiss in bed.
Will they be able to get past their differences?
