Married At First Sight UK viewers thought they’d seen it all when Matt Murray and Whitney Hughes confessed their love for each other while being married to other contestants during the experiment.
Then, after begging the experts to be allowed back on the show, they proclaimed they were actually in love with each other to the remaining couples, despite only being together for a matter of days.
And now, only weeks later, Matt revealed he has a new tattoo in tribute of Whitney.
The 32-year-old barber and Whitney, 31, were on a romantic final date at The Shard when Matt showed her his new ink.
Picking the right moment to surprise her, Whitney asked Matt what she was winning as a ‘prize’ after playing a game of who knew each other best.
‘I can give you something a little more permanent than a prize,’ he began before standing up and pulling up his trouser.

‘When we were on a little mini break, I remember in the kitchen, I said “I appreciate you” and you were like, “I appreciate you too”‘.
‘We now have that little memory that isn’t going anywhere,’ he said, showing her the new tattoo.
Whitney was left pretty speechless, as were those watching at home, with one person writing: ‘No way he got a tattoo,’ and another penning: ‘The whole of the UK seeing Matt’s leg tattoo saying “I appreciate you” after 2 weeks.’
‘No he did not,’ another commented.
After calling the new tattoo ‘really f**king sweet,’ she handed Matt her own gift, that wasn’t quite as permanent.
She gave him a photograph of the new couple with ‘I appreciate you’ printed underneath.

This comes after rumours that Matt had appeared on Channel 4’s Naked Attraction in the past, which sees a host of unlucky-in-love singletons raring to go on a date, but in order to be a whisked away on a romantic dinner or drinks they must strip off, winning over a potential partner based purely on their physical appearance.
However, he quickly cleared things up on Twitter, replying to one viewer with: ‘I was in a back story for Naked attraction. I never got naked.’
Another viewer noticed that Matt wasn’t actually a contestant on the steamy show, but appeared in a VT as a friend.
Someone else confirmed: ‘Haha sorry he wasn’t a contestant! Just a friend of the girl that applied!’
Married At First Sight UK continues tonight at 9pm on E4.
