Married At First Sight dinner parties have become an iconic aspect of the E4 programme, with the group frequently bickering with one other while chowing down on lamb and sipping red wine.
Brad Skelly and Shona Manderson argued during the most recent three-course meal over whether they should be concerned about if the group believes in their love, while Laura Vaughn confronted Luke Worley after he dubbed her a money digger.
While witnessing the drama develop from home is exhausting, it’s even more so for the newlyweds.
On tonight’s episode of MAFS UK, we’ll meet two new grooms, JJ Slater and Jordan Gayle, neither of whom had previously watched the show.
They were in for a surprise when they attended their first dinner party, which they revealed at a press junket for the series.
Clothing brand owner JJ, 30, recalled: ‘I remember just sitting there nibbling bread and looking one side and then looking at the other, watching everyone shouting at each other.
‘The dinner parties are chaos,’ summarised personal trainer Jordan, 26, who weds Erica Roberts.
‘It starts off with one or two people disagreeing. Everyone in there has got their own friends and circles, so everyone’s on like one side of an argument so it’s either team A or team B then everyone’s involved.
‘In the end, it’s however many people are sat around the dinner table all screaming at each other, shouting at each other, cussing each other.
‘As the series goes on it gets more chaotic. It gets worse and worse. In the end it’s like WWE.’
JJ, who marries Bianca Petronzi, added: ‘It’s like Jeremy Kyle.’
Jordan even stated that production was raising the pay of those working to keep things quiet.
‘Put it this way they pay the security guards a good amount of money, and their wages were going up and up.’
‘They brought in extra security at some point as well,’ JJ recalled.
Married At First Sight UK continues tonight on E4 at 9pm.
