Married At First Sight UK stars Thomas Hartley and Chanita Stephenson locked horns after secret drama was revealed.
Thomas, who is wed to Adrian Sanderson in the social experiment programme, sat down for a reunion drink with Chanita, and her husband Jordan Emmett-Connelly, when things turned sour.
While their partners greeted each other with a warm embrace Chanita and Thomas barely had eye contact as they settled into their seats, causing one of the experts to remark: ‘Tom’s quite icy towards Chanita there, something’s going on behind the scenes here.’
As they sip at glasses of bubbly, with Thomas looking bored during a conversation about Chanita and Jordan’s honeymoon, it leads Chanita to exclaim: ‘I think someone dislikes me.’
After a few tense words, Chanita comments: ‘You’re apparently the one who’s been saying stuff.’
Thomas responds: ‘If I have a problem I go to the source.’
She replies: ‘I don’t know the problem.’
Thomas adds: ‘I didn’t know the problem until yesterday. I’m absolutely heartbroken by it, to be honest with you, Chanita. And I’ll talk to ya later about it, one on one.’
Speaking after the awkward conversation, Thomas tells viewers: ‘I have not slagged Chanita off at any point. April has and I’m getting the blame. I have not said anything. And if she believes it after I’ve explained myself then that’s up to you.’
While Thomas continues to make a few jibes about the drama later on in the episode, saying at one point he’d ‘never seen an adult behave like that’, the pair appear to draw a truce.
After burying the hatchet, Chanita says: ‘I hope Thomas is telling the truth.’
