After’stepping away’ from Twitter, Martin Lewis has returned to social media with a forceful message for broadcasters.
Two weeks ago, The Money Saving Expert announced his temporary leave, signing off with, ‘Bye for now.’
This occurred when his successful ITV show, Martin Lewis Money Show, was on hiatus.
However, he’s returned to our feeds with an essential message, as well as being nominated for not one, but two National Television Awards.
On Tuesday, the 51-year-old took to Twitter to request a “quick favour.”
He wrote: ‘A quick favour. The NTA short-lists have just been announced and I’m chuffed to be up in two categories http://nationaltvawards.com/vote
‘The competition’s very stiff, so if you fancy giving me a vote on pages 5 & 6 that’d be very kind (& do click through to the end or it won’t count).
Thank you all for the kind words and kind votes

‘PS Huge thanks to all who voted in the long list to get me here.’
Martin then added: ‘PPS A win would be a strong message to broadcasters about the importance of money help on TV right now.’
Martin is up against Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, who are vying for their 22nd trophy in a row, as well as Alison Hammond, Claudia Winkleman from The Traitors, and Bradley Walsh from The Chase.

Meanwhile, The Martin Lewis Money Show Live is competing for best factual show, against Clarkson’s Farm, Sort Your Life Out, and Paul O’Grady: For the Love of Dogs.
Earlier this year, it was revealed that former colleagues Holly and Phillip Schofield might face off at the NTAs, after both were named to the TV presenter longlist. However, neither of them made the cut.
Elsewhere, the late Dame Deborah James is being recognised in the written documentary category for her film Bowelbabe in Her Own Words, which broadcast on the BBC about her life after being diagnosed with terminal bowel cancer and dying in June 2022 at the age of 40.
Other nominations include musician Lewis Capaldi for his show How I’m Feeling Now, Busted’s Matt Willis for his video Fighting Addiction, and former professional rugby league player Rob Burrow’s Living with MND, who was diagnosed with motor neurone disease in 2019.
The National Television Awards 2023 are due to take place on Tuesday September 5 and will air at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
