Matt Hancock revealed he struggled being away from his partner Gina Coladangelo in the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out! jungle as they reunited on the bridge.
The disgraced health secretary left the ITV show in third place during last week’s hotly anticipated final, with Hollyoaks actor Owen Warner landing the runner-up spot and Lioness Jill Scott crowned the winner.
After being booted out of camp, Hancock immediately expressed his upset at being apart from Gina for so long (although it’s since been reported that he is still in Australia, having left her to fly back home on her own).
In scenes that aired on Thursday’s coming out programme, he hugged her while saying: ‘I’m so sorry it’s been this long, it’s been awful.
‘It’s going to be great from here on out.’

In their car ride back to the hotel, Hancock went on to ask Gina if he had been ‘authentically me’ while on the series.
‘It took a few days I felt for you to relax,’ she said.
‘When I was being grilled in the early days, I felt like people were asking me on behalf of the British public,’ he told her.

‘I knew going in it would be controversial, but I also know millions of people have voted for me’.
Hancock also serenaded Gina with Ed Sheeran’s track Perfect, leaving I’m A Celebrity viewers cringing at home.
Gina and Hancock have been an item ever since their affair was exposed in June 2021, when CCTV footage of them kissing was leaked to the media.
It wasn’t long before Hancock was forced to resign from his position as health secretary.
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! is available to stream on ITV Hub.
