Maya Jama has spoken up about an unexpected meeting she had with a fan who requested a photo during a highly personal treatment.
The Love Island presenter appeared on Saturday’s episode of The Jonathan Ross Show, alongside Niall Horan, Dame Prue Leith, and James Acaster.
Jonathan, 62, interrogated the former Radio 1 host and One Direction star about how frequently they are recognised and requested to pose for photos.
When asked if they’d had any more uncomfortable experiences, the 28-year-old described a tumultuous journey to the salon.
Maya stated that she had gone to her appointment for laser treatment ‘all over’ and had been talking with her ‘wonderful’ therapist before things went wrong.
She continued: ‘I’d gone in there and you have to have your fanny out and the girl was doing it, she was a lovely girl, we were having a little chat about something.
‘And then halfway through – literally when she was just in there – she was like, “Can I get a little selfie after?”
‘I was like, “Yeah you can, but now you’ve just seen all over me, I feel shy.”
‘But then there’s proof like, “I touched her fanny,” And then there’s a picture, you know what I mean? Confirmed!’
‘So that was a bit strange.’
That’s a bit of an understatement!
As the therapist, hmm, hinted, the presenter’s new Love Island enterprise has gone down a storm with fans since she took over the reins from Laura Whitmore.
Following the launch in January, the TV personality thanked fans on Instagram for their overwhelming support.
She captioned many photos of herself in her already-iconic black cut-out dress, ‘Overwhelmed from last night, thank you so much for your nice thoughts.’
The Jonathan Ross Show continues on ITV on Saturday at 9.40pm.
