Ten Pound Poms, Michelle Keegan’s highly anticipated new BBC drama, premieres this month, and to celebrate, the actress released a few behind-the-scenes images from her time on production.
Michelle, 35, spent weeks filming the programme, set in post-war Britain, in Australia last year, and we’ll finally be able to wrap our heads around the first episode on May 14.
Michelle portrays Kate, a young nurse, in Ten Pound Poms, a film about a group of British people who leave their nation in 1956 to establish a new life in Australia.
Michelle, a former Corrie actor, uploaded a photo of herself in costume on Instagram on Sunday, along with a slew of other fantastic set photos.
‘1 week till Ten Pound Poms transports you back to 1956,’ she captioned the image.
The protagonists in Ten Pound Poms, which also stars Faye Marsay and Warren Brown, are promised new houses, employment, and a higher quality of life for just a tenner if they migrate Down Under, but they quickly struggle with their new lives in Australia.

Danny Brocklehurst, who previously worked on Brassic with Michelle and has been busy promoting other projects recently, devised the six-part series. She just offered fans a sneak peek at her major part in the Netflix drama Fool Me Once.
Dame Joanna Lumley plays her character Maya Stern’s mother-in-law Judith in the programme, and Michelle is thrilled to be working alongside the Absolutely Fabulous legend on the eight-part series.
While their on-screen relationship is’very tense,’ things were not the same on set.
‘I still can’t believe it,’ she added while conversing at a Netflix event honouring the impending 2023 content.

Michelle provided insight into what Joanna is like in real life for those of us who have yet to meet the star.
‘She’s hilarious. She has all the crew laughing all the time. She is so professional and lovely to be around.’
We wouldn’t expect anything less.
‘I just gravitated towards her straight away. She makes you feel really comfortable. She’s a legend.’
Maya’s husband Joe, played by Richard Armitage, is brutally killed in front of her in the show.
However, not all is as it appears when she discovers her ‘dead husband’ on the nanny camera one day.
We follow Maya as she attempts to find out what is going on.
The narrative is based on Harlan Coben’s best-selling novel of the same name, and it takes place in Manchester, allowing Michelle, who lives in Essex, to visit her birthplace.
