Molly Marsh was already well-known before her appearance on Love Island.
The 21-year-old musical theatre artist has had a tough road in the villa thus far after being first paired up with Mitchel Taylor, 26, but her heart swiftly shifted for personal trainer and basketball star, Zach, also 26.
Fans were shocked to learn that Molly’s mother, Janet Marsh, had walked the Coronation Street cobblestones, but we’re still waiting for her to drop the beans to her fellow islanders.
Before her Love Island adventure began, Molly stated that while she would like to come home with Mr Right, she also wants to advance her profession.
‘Who wouldn’t want to find someone and find love?,’ she said.
‘The same with money. Who wouldn’t want to go on a show and win money?’
‘And with the fame side of things, because I’m in the social media industry, I do have a sprinkle of that fame and getting noticed when I go out.’
Although the new season has been well received by fans, the show has lately received 155 Ofcom complaints after Jess Harding was dubbed a “mean girl” for her treatment of Molly.
The drama began on Wednesday, June 14, when Jess, 22, made various remarks about Molly behind her back and then fell into tears when she was confronted about her actions.
The aesthetics practitioner once told the rest of the group that Molly was ‘doing the most’ in the gym.
Ella Thomas replied: ‘She’s not leaving Zach’s side today. She is obviously pretending that she just wanted to work out.’
Jess added: ‘She knows we’re talking about her. I don’t give a f***. Give a f***.’
When Molly called over to Jess and asked her to join, she bluntly replied: ‘I don’t want to intrude in the triangle babe.’
‘I can literally hear every conversation. Just shut up,’ Molly added under her breath.
The episode has now racked up 155 complaints with Ofcom confirming that ‘the majority of complaints related to alleged bullying behaviour, involving Jess and Molly.’
