During Thursday night’s episode of Naked, Alone, and Racing to Get Home, a competitor got down on one knee despite missing out on the show’s $10,000 prize.
The E4 fixture, which challenges the public to navigate their way out of the forest entirely naked, puts four people’s survival skills to the test.
Jenny and Steve, who were split into two teams, got more than they bargained for when their experience on the show concluded in a marriage proposal.
The opposition eventually won the game – Meryl and Mike, two strangers who banded together to live for three days – but Jenny crowned herself the true ‘winner’ when her lover produced a ring in the last minutes of the episode.
The now-engaged couple’s relationship was put to the test when they were stripped of their phones, clothing, and money and had to search for food and shelter while putting their heads together to prevent cold and the like.
At the end of the three days, the teams must sprint through a town stark naked in order to win the show’s $10,000 prize.
Losing out by minutes, Jenny and Steve fell short but before they could even process what had happened Steve was on one knee and produced an engagement ring.
Ahead of becoming a bride to be, Jenny said of her victorious competitors: ‘They deserved it, they did well. I feel a little bit disappointed for Ste, I feel I let him down’.
Following her statement, Steve took over and shocked everyone with what he said next: ‘I had a plan in place that I was going to do something you would remember for the rest of your life.
‘I’ve got a surprise for you, you’re going to hate this now. Will you marry me?’
‘Yes!,’ was Jenny’s response to which her partner exclaimed: ‘You weren’t expecting that were you?’
The shocked contestant said through teary eyes: ‘We don’t need to win, I’ve just won.
‘We can make money another way, we don’t need it. I think I would have chosen this over the money.
‘It’s been a great experience, I’m so excited. This is such an amazing thing to happen today and now to the future’.
Naked, Alone and Racing to Get Home airs tonight at 9pm on E4.
