Atomic Kitten had’major cat fights’ back in the day, according to Natasha Hamilton.
The 40-year-old vocalist is a member of the Whole Again hitmakers with Liz McClarnon and Jenny Frost, as well as previous members Kerry Katona and Heidi Range.
During Friday’s broadcast of This Morning on ITV, she discussed her friendship with Liz and Jenny, saying, ‘We had one other’s backs through thick and thin.
‘We didn’t always agree and there would be some major cat fights behind the scenes. But to put it to bed, its like siblings. You fall out every now and then, but you love each other and you support each other.’
Natasha is the newest addition to The Real Housewives of Cheshire, and she admits that her time in the band helped prepare her for the world of reality television.
‘I’ve done tiny amounts throughout the years, but when they asked me to join, I was like, “What am I going to do?” she admitted. Since I’ve already worked with tough girls, Jenny and Liz, and I know what it’s like. That may be rather intense.’
‘They are my sisters, I love them dearly,’ she added.
The mother-of-four disclosed last month that she is expecting her fifth child, her first with husband Charles Gay, and her pregnancy influenced her first meeting with the other Real Housewives stars.
‘I was in my early stages of pregnancy. So that scene you’ve just watched, I was so ill! I just felt so sick. You’re meeting all these women, and I’m like, all I want to do is vomit on them,’ she joked.
She explained: ‘I didn’t really want to [tell them I was pregnant]. [But] then everyone’s like, “Are you not having a drink?” And you get judged, you know!’
Reflecting on the show, her pregnancy and her solo career plans, she said: ‘To be honest, it’s just all happened a the same time.
‘Me and my husband have been married for a year and a half, and we have been trying since we got married. It’s taken us a little bit longer than what we thought. Everything’s kinda landed at the same time.
‘But I mean, my life’s always been busy, I’ve always had a busy career, I’ve had a big family.’
While it was ‘nerve racking’ recording her early parts for the show, she has got to know her co-stars and bluntly noted that ‘most of them are great’.
She added: ‘They’re all big personalities. For me, I just wanted to go in, take each person as they come, judge them on how they treated me, and see how the relationships go from there.’
This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
