Our cold little hearts have just gotten a little warmer because the ladies of Monterey are reuniting for a new season of Big Little Lies.
Nicole Kidman, 56, casually dropped the news, and we’re going to need to go for a quick jog along the coast followed by a large glass of white wine to work through our excitement.
Nicole was asked about her favourite roles during her epic career while being interviewed on stage, and the clip was shared on Instagram by Deux Moi.
‘I loved Moulin Rouge, but I loved Big Little Lies,’ she revealed, to applause from the audience.
‘It sort of came along in a time in my life where I had my children and I was thinking I was going to retire, and then this situation came along where Reese Witherspoon and I were able to produce and create that show,’ she explained.
‘Then all of you watched it and made it a massive success.’

In the biggest mic drop moment, she concluded: ‘We’ll be bringing you a third one just FYI.’
Along with Reese and Nicole, the cast included Zoe Kravitz, Laura Dern, Meryl Streep, and Shailene Woodley.
If you’re unfamiliar with the HBO series, which has been nominated for 16 Primetime Emmy Awards and has won eight of them, let us fill you in.
The series, based on Liane Moriarty’s novel of the same name, premiered in 2017 and follows the lives of upper-middle-class mothers in a small Californian town whose lives are turned upside down by a murder.
Celeste’s (played by Nicole) husband Perry (Alexander Skarsgrd) was murdered by Bonnie (Zoe), and the ladies banded together to keep her secret safe because he was an all-around bad guy who was abusive to his wife and raped Jane (Shailene).
Bonnie struggles with her guilt for the crime in the second series, which ends on a cliffhanger when she decides to turn herself in at the police station, accompanied by the women who helped keep the crime hidden.
It is brand new and unexpected news that we will see what happens next and will no longer have to rely on our imaginations, as HBO programming chief Casey Bloys previously disappointed fans when he stated that another season was unlikely: ‘The reality is, they are some of the busiest actresses working in Hollywood. I just think it’s not realistic.
‘Look, if they all came to me and said: “We worked out all of our schedules!” then sure. But I just don’t think it’s realistic.’
Four years after the last installment, it appears that some hardworking agents have worked out their schedules and given us what we all truly want and need.
