It’s the end of an era for Made in Chelsea fans, as longstanding cast member Ollie Locke and his spouse, Gareth Locke, have left the programme.
Ollie is the penultimate original cast member of the Channel 4 series to say goodbye, as he and Gareth launched an exciting new business while preparing to welcome their children into the world.
The couple is expecting twins, a boy and a girl, who will be carried by a surrogate this summer.
They’ve chosen to start a new YouTube programme called Our Daddy Diaries to capture their journey into parenting, which has influenced their decision to leave Made In Chelsea permanently.
‘Made in Chelsea is about young people making up and breaking up. We’re very much the dads of it all,’ Gareth told The Sun.
‘It came the time for something new and for us to have something we have control over.’
Gareth explained that he and Ollie are ‘part of the production’ of their new show, and they’ll be able to ‘share absolutely everything’ with their fans.
The reality added that he and his husband have ‘outgrown’ Made In Chelsea, as they head down a ‘completely different path’.
Ollie described their show as an ‘unadulterated, no holds barred access’ into their lives.
He added that in their opinion, it’s ‘unlike any other reality show’ because it’s ‘very high-end’.
Gareth likened the show to Disney Plus’s The Kardashians, since they’ll be sitting down for interviews in front of the camera, unlike what they do on Made In Chelsea.
While the pair has opted to leave the Channel 4 show, he says the producers have kept the door open for them to return if they so choose.
Ollie and Gareth discovered the gender of their twins earlier this year, confirming that they are expecting a girl and a boy.
For several years, the pair has been upfront with their followers about their desire to become dads, and they have grown quite close to their surrogate, Bex Ward.
Made In Chelsea is available to watch on demand on Channel 4.
