Pamela Anderson has addressed the new documentary about her tumultuous relationship with Tommy Lee, revealing that she approached Lily James in private.
The Baywatch star had previously criticised the producers of Pam & Tommy for the ‘violation,’ admitting that the show made her and Tommy feel as like they had had another valuable possession’stolen’ from them when their sex film was captured and published without their knowledge or consent.
The 55-year-old actress said in a recent interview that she invited Lily, who plays her in the Netflix limited series, to the premiere of her documentary Pamela: A Love Story.
‘I said to Netflix, “I’d love to invite Lily to the premiere of the movie,”’ she said. ‘I’ve got nothing against Lily James. She was just doing the job. But the idea of the whole thing happening was just really crushing for me.’
The explosive release of Pamela and Tommy’s sex tape in the 1990s made headlines everywhere.
They had two kids, Brandon and Dylan, together before splitting up in 1998.
Their love story served as the basis for a new TV show, in which Sebastian Stan and Lily starred.
The show’s creators are “a**holes,” according to Pamela, who claims she hasn’t watched any of Pam & Tommy and has no intention of doing so.
‘It just looked like a Halloween costume to me,’ she continued to Variety. ‘It was just shocking

‘I remember Tommy writing me a note saying, “Don’t let this hurt you like it did the first time,” because he had heard through the kids that I was struggling with the idea of bringing this all up again.
‘I don’t think he was portrayed kindly. I just know that I refuse to watch it.’
The film legend criticised the media’s portrayal of her in the interview, which came just days before the premiere of her one-hour special and book, Love, Pamela.

“I’m not a victim, and I’m not the damsel in distress,” she said. My life is what it is because of the decisions I’ve made. There are some that were definitely designed for me, but I’ve always managed to find my way back to myself. That experience has made me a more resilient individual and a better father as a result.
In both the Netflix documentary and her memoir, the former Playboy model reflects on her life, from her romance with Tommy Lee to her experience as a parent.
She discussed the effects of this on her appearance on the Howard Stern show, revealing that she put on nearly two stone while writing about it.
‘I went through kind of a crazy time writing the book. I put on like 25 pounds [1.7 stone],’ she shared.
‘I look back at it and I see how it was the “book process” […] it was crazy! I had a physical reaction to telling my story. It was almost like I was hanging on to something – it was protective. My puffy suit of armor.
‘I don’t know what it was – I was thinking it was some kind of protection. It wasn’t like I was eating any different, I’m vegan, I eat nuts and berries, you know, I don’t eat a lot. But my body was changing!’
