Dom Gabriel, Perfect Match’s host, admitted he was’very naive’ about Francesca Farago’s relationship with Damian Powers.
In the new Netflix dating programme, meant to offer renowned faces another chance to find love on the small screen, the Mole actor drew close to the Too Hot To Handle fan.
Things were looking bright for the aspiring couple when they won a compatibility challenge, which allowed them to bring in fresh singletons to go on dates with their co-stars.
However, Dom was thrown for a loop when Francesca saw that the Love Is Blind star was among the options of available men, and opted to send herself on the date instead.
‘I didn’t know her history with Damian and a lot of people in the house were bringing it up and asked me if I was worried about it,’ he said in a new interview.
‘You might say I was very naive. But I trusted her and she told me I could trust her.
‘I definitely didn’t see that coming, of her putting herself on that date.’
He revealed to Narcity that he ‘felt hard’ for her and lamented on watching her focus shift elsewhere.
‘If I’m being completely honest with you, yeah it hurt. It was definitely a moment that I was like, I don’t know if I’m built for this,’ he added.
Francesca and Dom were paired up from the first night in the villa and stayed together through numerous hardships.
In comparison to the drama that many of their castmates endured, they had made progress in their relationship in the villa.
Their romance was put to the ultimate test when Francesca chose to date Damian, and the first set of episodes ended on a massive cliffhanger.
Fans of Love Is Blind will recall that the two had an unusual backstory and were formerly close friends.
In 2021, Francesca was on Damian’s arm for the season one reunion celebration, which resulted in awkward situations with his ex, Giannina Gibelli.
Will they be able to capitalise on their spark in paradise?
Perfect Match is available to stream on Netflix now with new episodes released on February 28.
