After watching the video for his 1996 song Mysterious Girl, Peter Andre compared his younger self to his son Junior.
When Mysterious Girl topped the charts, the singer was roughly 23 years old, only six years older than Junior, who is now 17.
Pete, 49, has a son, Junior, and a daughter, Princess, with ex Katie Price, whom he met on I’m A Celebrity and divorced five years later in 2009.
Pete joined Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary in the This Morning studio to reflect on his biggest hit as he marked 30 years as a musician.
‘Do you know what, it’s mad, when you showed that clip with me – I was just going to say Junior – I thought, it literally reminded me of Junior,’ he said.
‘He looks just like you,’ Alison agreed.
Pete joked: ‘Yeah, poor thing, I’ve been talking to him about that’.
He continued: ‘They were great days, just looking back at all that!
‘And do you know, Phillip [Schofield] used to interview me 20 odd years ago, and when I came out of the jungle and I sort of came back into it years later, I didn’t realise he was the same person!’
Pete just shared a sweet video of his mother’s emotional reaction to reuniting with her grandson.
Pete recently flew his family to Australia to visit his parents, who are in poor health. Pete has expressed a wish to travel to Australia to spend quality time with his mother Thea, 86, and father Savvas, 79, before they become too frail.
‘Hello Junior,’ Thea says with a bright smile as Junior approaches her, before the two share a warm embrace for several moments and the teen sweetly stroking her arm.
She’s also seen giving Pete’s youngest son Theo, six, a big hug as the singer’s daughter Princess, 15, sits beside them.
Pete captioned the post: ‘We love you mum ♥️ Her reaction to junior is beautiful. Always asking about Bista ♥️♥️’
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.
