Peter Andre’s GB News debut hasn’t gone down well.
The Mysterious Girl hitmaker, 50, made his debut as a presenter on the controversial news channel this week, after announcing his intention to join the crew last month.
Throughout December, Pete will co-host Saturday Morning Live with presenter Ellie Costello from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The new team debuted their act this weekend (December 2), but many of Pete’s devoted followers were dissatisfied.
After his first concert, Pete took to X, previously Twitter, and published a series of images of himself and his new co-star.
He penned: ‘Great first day today on @GBNEWS Thank you all for making me feel so welcome. Thank you @elliecostelloTV for being a star. Join us on Saturdays throughout December.’
On social media, numerous of Pete’s fans expressed surprise at his presenting debut, considering that GB News has a history for broadcasting anti-LGBTQ+ ideas and platforming problematic characters such as Laurence Fox.
One person wrote to the Australian star: ‘How disappointing. I thought you were better than that Peter. GB News is awful, biased and LGBT+ phobic. Unfollowed.’
‘I honestly thought you were an ally to the LGBTQ+ community, so disappointed’, another echoed.
Another asked: ‘What a massive career ending mistake this will prove to be. Are you really this desperate for a job?’
India Willoughby, a broadcaster and Britain’s first trans national television newsreader, also posted: ‘Bloody awful Peter Andre. GB News: A channel that promotes racism, homophobia and transphobia. Yet you’re willing to turn a blind eye to all that.’
In terms of Pete’s real presenting abilities, the critiques weren’t exactly great.

‘Caught a few minutes of Peter Andre on GB News. My gosh, he was so awful. Really terrible. Could barely string a cohesive thought together. He’ll fit right in’, one person mocked.
Another called Pete’s signature “a joke” and wondered, “What does he know about politics and journalism?”
But it wasn’t all terrible for Pete, as some of GB News’ ardent followers had kind words for him.
‘They are brilliant 🙌 highly entertaining & great debate! This duo are a sure fire success GB News!’, one person commented on an Instagram clip.
Guests joined Pete and Ellie on his debut show as they discussed the royal race controversy, the vaping epidemic among youngsters, and King Charles wearing a tie portraying the Greek flag.
Pete isn’t the only newcomer on GB News right now.

Meanwhile, comedian John Cleese hosts The Dinosaur Hour, a new discussion programme in which he interviews various guests.
Despite this, the Monty Python actor previously acknowledged that he was having difficulty booking interviews owing to the channel’s controversial character.
I’m A Celeb star Pete shared his enthusiasm when he announced his deal with GB News a few weeks ago.
‘I can’t wait. Ellie and I got on so well in May, and although I was quite nervous because Breakfast is such a tough gig, I really loved it,’ he said.
Pete and Ellie previously co-hosted three episodes in May, filling up for Eamonn Holmes and Isabel Webster.
‘Viewers are really included in GB News programmes, so there’s an intimacy to your relationship with the audience that’s rare in television,’ he added.
