Ranvir Singh has disclosed that one of her dearest friends slammed her for her choice of attire on live television today.
The 46-year-old TV host was hosting Lorraine on Tuesday when she said that her patterned suit had grabbed the eye of quite a few individuals.
Ranvir abruptly interrupted her talk with Tyler West to relay a text message she’d received minutes before.
‘Could I just say that my lovely friend Russ always texts me when I’m on the show right, and today he’s said “I’d love some lovely wallpaper like your outfit. Think it would look gorgeous in my back bedroom”,’ she said.
As Tyler struggled to contain himself and not giggle, a crew member could be heard bursting out laughing, while Ranvir added: ‘Thanks very much Russ.’
Tyler tried to win over Ranvir by reminding him that he had stepped into the studio that morning and informed her that he ‘loved the green’ of her leaf-print outfit.
‘You did, but somebody else said they liked my pyjamas!’ she responded.
While all Tyler could respond with was ‘well….’, Ranvir jumped in and joked that ‘the fashion item was over now’ and changed the conversation.
Some viewers at home, though, echoed Ranvir’s colleague’s criticism.
‘Sorry, I’ve got to say the obvious. Looks as though Ranvir got up late this morning & rocked up to work in her PJs!’ one person joked.
‘Why is Ranvir in her jammies?,’ someone else questioned.
Another added: ‘Another thing that saves time in the morning Ranvir is going to work in your Jim jams.’
While Ranvir shrugged off the comments, she has previously shared her thoughts on other people’s clothes.
On Good Morning Britain in 2021, she mocked Harry Styles’ Brit Awards costume.
Ranvir commented on the Watermelon Sugar singer’s brown suit after viewing a programme on the newest entertainment news.
‘We’ll have Richard Arnold’s take on it soon,’ she said of the Brits coverage.
‘And that burnt toast suit, which struck me as slightly odd.’
However, Richard defended Harry’s ensemble of choice, remarking: ‘I thought it was absolutely fantastic.
Lorraine airs weekdays from 9am on ITV1.
