Today on live television, Holly Willoughby and Ruth Langsford discussed “awkward interactions.”
It’s safe to say things are tight following Ruth’s husband Eamonn’s outburst on GB News against the 42-year-old broadcaster and her former co-host Phillip Schofield before her recent TV return.
Holly addressed Schofield’s leave and affair when she returned to the ITV show’s couch with Josie Gibson last week, and she was back on Monday morning with Dermot O’Leary.
During the usual hookup with the Loose Women panel discussing what’s to come from the noon programme, she had to speak to Ruth about an unusual issue.
Holly asked: ‘What’s happening on the show today, Ruth?’
Referencing some swiss roll made by chef James Martin on the show, Ruth quipped: ‘Can you spare four slices of that cake, Holly?’

She continued: ‘Coming up on Loose Women, should you ever have a say on who your partner is friends with…?
‘And we’re talking awkward exchanges. Have you ever accidentally said, “I love you”, to the wrong person? Also today, we are asking, would you take love advice from a former cheat?’
Their most recent exchange comes after Holly did the usual link to preview what Ruth and the panel had coming up as said smiled: ‘It is time now to find out what Loose Women are talking about today, hi there Ruth.’

She and Josie had just finished an interview with singer Adam Lambert, and Ruth replied: ‘Hiya, we love Adam Lambert too! Mwah, mwah, mwah to him!’
She added: ‘Coming up on Loose Women, we’ll be exposing the big social media exam scam that could be affecting your children or your grandchildren. Also, here’s a question – is it ever okay to take off your wedding ring during a row?
She also welcomed guests Anton Du Beke and Leona Lewis, promising a “fantastic concert – as usual,” to which Holly replied, “We’ll see you then, thank you very much!”
Holly hasn’t responded to Eamonn’s words, but she was visibly moved when she returned to This Morning for the first time since her former co-host’s departure last week.
She claimed Schofield had left her “shaken, disturbed, and let down,” before hugging her co-host Josie and thanking everyone for their support.
This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV1.
